The Canon EOS C300 (http://www.brorsoft.com/convert-edit-mxf.html) can capture video at 1080p resolutions at a rate of 50Mbps - that's broadcast quality, and the minimum delivery for the likes of the BBC and Sky. It can achieve that resolution and data rate at 24fps, 25fps and 30fps. If interlaced video is acceptable, it can go up to 60fps, although that and 30fps are not formats generally used in the UK, but American customers will be keen to have them.Audio can be recorded too, although there's no built-in microphone. There are XLR sockets though, so you can easily record audio along with video.

I am a Canon C300 user, and the editing program I use is Final Cut Pro 7, C300 shoots beautiful MXF video files for me, but very disappointed in ease of getting HD videos from this camera to Final Cut Pro on Mac for editing as FCP only can surpport Apple ProRes well. So I am googling for MXF Converter for Canon C300, and then bought Brorsoft MXF Converter for Mac, I love it, it is doing exactly what I need it to and better still it is very easy to use. With it, you can not only deinterlace and Convert Canon C300 1080i MXF files to ProRes for FCP 7 (http://www.brorsoft.com/how-to/convert-canon-c300-1080i-mxf-files-to-prores-for-fcp7.html), but also edit your MXF files, such as cropping video size, trimming video clips, adding special effects and text/image/video watermarks to output videos, thus it will be on the top of your list.

If you are using the Canon EOS C300 as me, and currently also editing on Final Cut Pro 6 or FCP 7/FCP X, you can choose Brorsoft MXF to Final Cut Pro Converter for mac (http://www.brorsoft.com/mxf-converter-mac/index.html) to have a try. You will make it, and below I'd like to share the full guide with you to relize it. Here we go!

Step 1: Launch the Mac MXF to MOV Converter (http://www.brorsoft.com/mxf-converter-mac/index.html),run it on your mac then ingest your MXF files to it.
Tip: To join multiple MXF files into one file for easier editing in FCP, please tick the "Merge into one" box.

Step 2: Click on the “Format” and you will get a dropdown menu and then select Final Cut Pro > Apple PreRes 422(HQ), if you give the priority to the quality of the output videos.
Note: If you want the files to be in smaller size, you can follow Final Cut Pro>Apple ProRes 422(LT)(*mov)/Apple ProRes 422(*mov) option. If your files size is at SD levels, you are advised to choose Final Cut Pro>Apple ProRes 422(Proxy)(*mov), which is recommended for 480i/p and 576i/p shootings as well.

Step 3: Click Edit button and you can deinterlace Canon 1080i MXF footages for FCP via checking the “Deinterlacing” box in the Video Editor interface.

Easy handling AVCHD/AVCHD Lite .mts file with Final Cut Pro

What is the best solution for editing AVCHD and AVCHD Lite MTS/M2TS footage in Final Cut Pro? This is a frequently asked question by FCP users. Generally speaking, AVCHD footage is usually saved in MTS or M2TS container format, which are widely used by Sony, Panasonic, JVC, Canon camcorders.
http://image.pavtube.com/img/guide/2012-05/avchd-to-prores-422-for-fcp/0.jpg

AVCHD (http://www.pavtube.com/convert-mts-avchd-files.html) files are not natively supported by Final Cut Pro and must be transcoded to FCP friendly codecs such as QuickTime MOV and Apple Intermediate Codec before importing to FCP. However, the best method for importing AVCHD/AVCHD Lite footage to Final Cut Pro 6/7 or FCP X is to transcode them to Apple ProRes encoded mov format. Along with some help from AVCHD Video Converter (http://www.pavtube.com/mts-converter-mac/). If you are looking for a solution for this, just check out Pavtube's MTS/M2TS Convererter for Mac, a top AVCHD Converter for Final Cut Pro.

About the software: This is an AVCHD/AVCHD Lite transcoding tool for Mac OS X only.

This Mac prores Encoder deals with AVCHD footage straightly from Sony, Panasonic, JVC and various other camcorders and exports HD contents encoded in various codecs for editing and playing back. The FCP friendly codecs includes Apple ProRes family (ProRes 422, ProRes 422 LT, ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422 Proxy, ProRes 4444), DVCPRO, HDV, Apple Intermediate codec, etc.

Detailed guide of converting AVCHD/AVCHD Lite to Apple ProRes 422 (http://www.pavtube.com/guide/convert-avchd-mts-m2ts-to-apple-prores-for-final-cut-pro.html) for Final Cut Pro on Mac

Step 1. Free download and run the excellent Mac AVCHD Converter (http://www.pavtube.com/mts-converter-mac/) for Final Cut Pro. Click "Add" button and browse to the AVCHD footages either from scratch disk or cam HDD for loading to the converter.
http://image.pavtube.com/img/guide/2012-05/avchd-to-prores-422-for-fcp/1.jpg

Step 2. Click on "Format" bar and set a FCP friendly format in dropdown-list. You are advised to Follow "Final Cut Pro" template and "Apple ProRes 422 (*.mov)" format.
http://image.pavtube.com/img/guide/2012-05/avchd-to-prores-422-for-fcp/2.jpg

Step 3. Click convert button to start transferring AVCHD to FCP Apple ProRes 422 codec under Mac OS X.

Some more helpful features of the app:

1. Settings- click to set video resolution(1920×1080/1440×1080/1280×720/720×480), bitrate(from 1Mbps to 20Mbps), frame rate (24p/30p)

2. Editor (next to "Add" icon)- click to set deinterlace, denoise, mute, volume up, trim, crop, etc.

So there you have it. Once the conversion done, you can import AVCHD/AVCHD Lite MTS files into Final Cut Pro (http://www.pavtube.com/guide/convert-avchd-mts-m2ts-to-apple-prores-for-final-cut-pro.html) 6/7 or FCP X for smoothly editing as you want.
