Hi I am currently conducting research for my final year dissertation and am trying to gain views from web designers on which they think is better to use when designing web sites; Flash or HTML5?

Please comment with your opinion, and if you would be willing to participate in a brief interview via email please message me.

Thank you for your time.

Becky

Adobe Flash is better as long time of existence and measure in sub-pixel increments.

I choose HTML5. Flash is not allowed to run on some OS such as iPad, iPhone... HTML5 is an open format so it's easy to build.

I agree HTML5 is much better. flash does not work on ipad's or iphone's.

According to me, Flash is better because of its features.

Flash lets you reach the widest audience with the drawback of not working on some mobile devices; HTML5 is still developing.

Still HTML. There is a disadvantage using Flash and SEO.

I personally pick, HTML 5. Although, like others said, there are browsers that don't support it, it's good to have a back up. :D

I wouldn't get too worried about HTML5 unless you already have a paying job that demands it..

Depends what you are looking for... If you are targeting for SEO. Use HTML5 which is 10x better than flash. If just for personal site, then maybe flash is good.

from what I know, more and more large and small companies, perhaps corporate companies starting to eliminate flash features on their sites...

Other word, flash is dying... HTML5 is expanding quickly.

I love Flash, but it's decline in use started a while ago. HTML5 is still under development and I already have my florida web design (http://www.approachnet.com)clients asking us to remove flash elements and use jQuery, javacript, etc., instead. Apple OS support and better SEO is also another reason to use something other than Flash.

Both are best but i prefer to Adobe Flash and the point of view SEO HTML5 is best.

Thanks all for your input. Do you think the fact that HTML5 is open source will have a big impact on companies encouraging to use it? Compared to Flash which is very expensive.

Flash is dying, as soon as HTML5 becomes the new standard web designers should be designing to HTML5.

Facebook games will be pure HTML5, anything with a lot of interactive features that flash offers will be replaced with HTML5.

Not to mention:

HTML5 + CSS3 intergration will blow away any flash file.
Embed SEO which flash could never dream of.
Load faster than flash.
Editable on page, where flash needs to be opened in a program and uploaded.

There has been much debate over HTML5 vs Flash. ..But both have their unique functionalities that makes them favorite among user. Now it depends on the group of user's which suits them to most. well I also prefer HTML5.

Html 5 is light, fast and it's mobile friendly. Most of the phones in some countries doesn't have flash support. So if you want to reach those markets you must use something that can be viewed in those phones. And html5 is the best option. Nowadays not all the people have a smartphone.

With the way design technology is moving, HTML5 will be way to go in the coming years. It's just far more compatible in the overall scheme of things.

Flash, but then not all mobile devices can play it. It's a shame Flash seem to be dying. Looks like HTML 5 is the future. However currently, HTML 5 is not supported by all browsers yet, so maybe both currently.

We don’t want to i***uence your opinions about the two of them and that’s why we gathered 20 video players created using both technologies. Test them all and see which one fits best with your needs because after all there’s a matter of preference and one can fit better than other in different situations.

The decision from a user point of view may come down to the uptake.
E.g. iPad / iPhone users.

The drive and demand here will push HTML5 No matter how good flash is.

I think Adobe Flash Player is better then HTML.A lot of free vector art and graphics ideal for your designs. You can use them on your web, for prints or to design a unique T-shirt. Just download from logo32.com and enjoy.

HTML5 is not better than Flash because flash has advanced and optimized 2D API for web designing. The use of HTML5 is very cumbersome when it comes to the speed and some nice thing. Video is also a point of concern in HTML5 so it can be concluded that flash is better than HTML5.

I'm not sure Flash is as powerful as it used to be. Flash sites are impressive but sometimes not very practical for number of reasons. The main one being the whole incompatible with certain devices/browsers. I vote HTML5.

Start playing from the Offering to now, on this issue, I have been
very concerned about the "brush" destroyed a large part of the fun of
the game. GW2 Gold (http://www.sellgw2gold.com) for sale ArenaNet well aware that they managed to find the players stop
to "brush" something, and trying to improve this situation. Either
brush strange or brush mission.

Explain to the novice online
gamers in particular, the so-called "brush" is a player in order to
achieve a particular purpose repeatedly to do one thing.Buy GW2 Gold (http://www.sellgw2gold.com) For example, in
order to complete a task to collect a bunch of stuff, or kill a lot of
monsters. Almost each of a large-scale online games has set such a
setting, it is easy to feel tired, then ArenaNet how to solve it?

HTML5 is better for web design!!

I have attended “jQuery Conference Asia”. 400 Asian web developers, designers, and publishers attended the first ever jQuery conference held in Asia. Seven jQuery Foundation board members along with three professionals from Samsung and Incross spoke at the conference, providing attendees with the latest jQuery and HTML5 developments and trends. According to the jQuery Mobile team, South Korea is the most popular country for jQuery Mobile development in the world.
Corey Frang in charge of jQuery Animation development has presented Core and jQuery UI effects of jQuery animation components. He specifically described codes and explained them on each topic. “Queues, Animate, Easing, Shortcuts, Timers” for Core and “Animate Classed, Widget Effects, jQuery Color, etc.” for jQuery UI effects. DaVinci Team presented how to develop web app. using HTML5 authoring tool and methodology as well. Those techniques that Corey presented helped me a lot with my animation and web design.
