Program to automatically add code to multiple html pages?

Hello there,

I am new to this forum and I've joined because I badly need to update my website building skills. Hope you all will have patience with what will be a series of daft-sounding questions!

My first is what program I can use to insert code (basically Google Adsense code) into multiple HTML pages. Preferably this program should be free but it's not too problematic if it's not. It can be a standalone program that does just the above OR is there a web development program which has the above tool?

Any free html editor can be used to do this but it will be time consuming.

If you move on to Wordpress there are free plugins available that will do this for you automatically.
