Hi, I have noticed that when there are embedded flash videos from youtube or various other sites, it causes some unnecessary strain on the browser. I tend to embed Youtube videos on my homepage as frontpage articles.
After about 4-5 videos appear on the page, the page begins to blink at page load and stall while it loads every single flash embed.
I am wondering if there's some kind of Javascript or Joomla Extension that can take a screenshot of the flash player and use the screenshot instead of the flash player. When a person clicks on the screenshot, it will replace the screenshot with the actual flash player.
In theory, this would be a lot less strain on the browser because images load fast and are easy to render, whereas multiple flash players are slow, cause page blinking, and make scrolling sluggish.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks,
-Neil
