Japanese script support

I'm looking into building a website for the first time. The website will need to support both English and Japanese text. Unfortunately, I signed up to one of the 'easy build' web design and hosting companies (I'll let you know which if you are interested) only to find after that it didn't support Japanese characters!
Please, could someone point me in the direction of some easy to use web build software/hosting that supports foreign script?
For your info, I have no experience of web design or HTML, so the simpler, the better.

You should use some of the opensource content management systems, s.a. Joomla, WordPress, Drupal, Typo, etc... All of them support UTF characters..
