help with access to hosting

I'm hoping someone can help.

my friend has asked me to redesign his website as he can't get hold of the designer of his original site. He's tried phoning, texting and emailing.

The problem now is that he's very happy with the site I've built him but can't get access to the hosting password and doesn't even know who it's hosted with. I've done a whois search and it looks like it's hosted with krystal.co.uk but they won't give either myself or my friend the password or username.

Does anyone know of a way round this?

The easiest way would just to choose a different hosting provider for the site you've designed, and then update the domain's dns information at his registrar.
