Hey guys

I won't waste your time. I basically have a lot of free time at the moment and creating a website interested me, but I wanted some advice from people who have experience with websites first.

I haven't made a website before, and for the time being would only want to do it for free until I was more educated on creating one.

Could you please help me out and answer some of my questions, I'd be really grateful.

> Is it profitable to create a website?
> Where do I start? Resources I can begin with?
> How much would it cost if I began paying for my website?

Any other input would be great as I need all the help I can get.

Cheers Joe

If you are either going to sell something or use it as ad space, a website has the potential to be profitable yes.

Typically a website can be made from scratch, just the knowledge of HTML/CSS/Javascript is necessary to start: www.w3schools.com
Later for PHP, you will need a server to test it on. http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html

If you want to buy space online, so that you can host your website publicly, then you can choose a number of places to host with: www.bluehost.com , or www.siteground.com are 2 of hundreds available. Just please don't use GoDaddy, its' such a hassle.
