An doing research on building a website for a small business. Should be low traffic. Will be a simple design with pics, graphics and text. I am thinking of using Homestead to build the website, GoDaddy to register the domain name and get listed with the big search engines.

I have a Bachelors in Information Security Systems, but have little real experience in building a web site and getting it online. So I ask those in the know... what am I missing here? What am I forgetting? What can I do better? What advice can you all give me before I actually start this process?

Thanks in advance!

Well, I wouldn't use godaddy.com, but that is just because I don't like them. bluehost.com, siteground.com those are better choices. You could manage the website with something like wordpress.com, you install their web pages into your site and it enables you to use style templates and management tools to help you manage the website.
