Embedded Windows

How do some websites make seemingly embedded windows where you can have multiple "windows" which are resizable, have a scroll bar, and can be moved around anywhere inside the browser?
I am really curious how that is done, thanks.

Do you have any examples? I would assume that they are using javascript.

JQuery is a javascript framework and you may be able to see some of the effects you have mentioned on the demo's on this site.
