Hi, as you can see I'm new to the web development world and I have a few academic and professional related questions. Currently, I'm a researcher and interested in going back to school to earn a degree in web development. Through working with computers on a daily basis I figured out that I really like CIS, and more specifically all things pertaining to the world wide web. I ordered a few books and took a stab at learning stuff on my own to see if I liked it enough to take a few classes. I do. So now this is the situation. I have two programs in the city that I live in. One is a bachelors and the other is an associate's at a community college....Due to the work environment I'm currently in advanced degree status has been driven into my head, which i know is not always the case in this industry, but at times can be. Instinctively I want to go for the bachelor's b/c its a "better piece of ppr" so to speak. However, it is far more expensive (but i'm totally willing to spend the money if it is worth it!), and when I break down the degree requirements between the two, it looks like the associates degree actually has more relevant course work. I've done some previous reading on other posts about similar issues. I just don't want to end up feeling like I've wasted my money on an "education". I am extremely tenacious, so I feel that this industry and the continual learning that goes along with it, is a great fit for me. However, I think getting some form on 'formal' teaching would be the best place to start for me, given my circumstances. Any insight you have would be much appreciated.
