cross browser; table not working

hi

excuse my noobness, i literally started web designing today.

using dreamweaver, i've been making a pretty basic page, almost entirely images and no text (the minimal text is hand-drawn scans). i'm setting it out with one big table, which naturally has a bunch of merged cells.

i've been checking with chrome, and it looks really slick. however, mozilla seems to display things a little off, and ie seems to completely ignore my merged cells.

any ideas?

excuse also my slapdash approach - i just want to get something up and running as quickly as possible :).
