How to get users & Legal Question

Hi everybody,

I just launched a forum site and am having trouble getting people to sign up and post stuff. Is it legal to have a gift card lottery thing where at the end of the month, all registered users have a chance to win a gift card?

Also, I submitted my site to search engines but nothing comes up. How long does it usually take for your site to get noticed?

Do you have any suggestions about how I can get people to use my site? Thanks for your help!

It can take a few weeks / months before you get noticed by the search engines. Also look into SEO techniques. Check Googles webmaster tools and Analytics

If you offer something special in the content your delivering then people will find you. Gimmicks don't work and if you have to run a lottery / raffle then you need some legal advice as these are not permitted in some countries.
