Expression Engine Free Version

Hi everyone,

I'd like to know if the Expression Engine's free version is enough for common websites, common needs. Or if in most cases one finds himself limited by it and feels the need to buy a non-free version ?

The free version is not for commercial websites I guess? and there is no technical support for the free version.
