Hi, newbie here, nice to meet you all.

I've recently made my site live, but none of the search engines will even recognise my domain let alone any other searches. Google does recognise it, but instead of the name of my site shows:

Index of /Apache/2.2.11 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.11 OpenSSL/0.9.8i DAV/2 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at colombiatravelguide.net ...

My site has a fair amount of content and I've included a meta description etc so I really don't know why it isn't being recognised...? Does it take a few days for the search robots to crawl over sites (I doubt this as I'd assume it would be more or less instantaneous).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

My site is: www.colombiatravelguide.net

Cheers,
Ewan.

Go to google webmaster tools, all the information you need will be there, you'll have to verify your site to submit it, then you can submit a sitemap. Submit it to yahoo as well... yes it will take a few days to index.
