i never really use templates so this may be an easy one..

im editing a site which has the nav bar/header frozen using templates. I'm adding a page and thus need to add a link to the navbar. problem is, i can't find the template file. the files seem to be looking for it in templates/main.dwt.php, but the directory didnt/doesn't exist on the server i downloaded the files from. How can i edit these webpages? can i recreate the template or make the existing pages not use a template?

Is this a site you inherited? If so, maybe the other designer didn't upload the template, but still has it on their computer. If you made the site you should have it somewhere on your computer.

You can detach a template from a page:
I think it's the "modify" menu, then "templates", the "detach from template". I don't know how or even if you can re-attach it someway, I doubt it. So if you have a lot of pages then this wouldn't be a good idea.

The template is somewhere, you need to find it.
