How to create a booking website.

Hey, I am interested in creating a website where I can rent out an aircraft or a car on certain days and then store this information and possibly print out a contract with it right away from the website with the associated costs of renting. How would I bring about in creating this website? Do I need to know databases?

Yes, you will need database knowledge and also knowledge of a scripting/programming language. It's very doable though. :)
