As a Freelancer what are the basic things to be adopted?

Freelance work is really a bit competitive these days. There are some points which I think should to be discussed.

1. Time Management
2. Meet deadlines
3. Be an expert
4. Report clients on his/her work weekly, if possible daily.
5. Self promotion on web

What you guys think, what should be discussed more on this?

the first 3 should be in your work ethic anyway

if you fail in anyone of those then you need to look at other avenues

4 is not required unless specified by a client. Just keep them in the loop is enough. You should have mile stones set on projects and you just need to deliver and report on those.

5 you need a site but it may not drive in workthrough this alone.
