Hello as with alot of people, how many e-mails name@whoever do you have?
I mean I have about a hundred. Is it possible or has anyone tried to e-mail these
known e-mails to click on our web site, to help generate more traffic.
And how many do you think will actually click on the site.
Is there a site that we can access thousands of e-mails to try this method?

What you're talking about here is email marketing. And no, emailing your personal address book of 100 emails will not get you anywhere.

There are sites out there that provide you with email addresses, but the problem is that you don't know how "tainted" they are: have they been used by lots of other marketers to the point that they are now useless to you?

The best way to get into email marketing is to drive your own traffic to an opt-in page and collect them yourself. In your post you mentioned using the emails to get traffic to your own site, whereas I'm suggesting using the site to get the emails.

This is a catch-22 situation, as you need the traffic to get the emails, and the emails to get the traffic. However, there are plenty of other ways to generate traffic to your site other than email marketing.
