Help with shadow border

I created a gray background with a 2" horizontal textured bar running across the top about an 1" down from top margin and then have a white content square centered in middle.

In dreamweaver, I have the gray with bar background set in the body tag and then created a white container for the content. My question is how can i put a drop shadow border on the left and right sides.
