Hyperlink from .swf file

I have been provided with a flash header for 5 page html website. The header contains animated buttons that need to link to their appropriate html pages.

My questions are:

1. Do I need to do anything before embedding the header - ie something to preload the .swf file?

2. How do I get the animated buttons to link to their respective html pages - do I need to edit the .swf file?

Any advice or direction to appropriate tutorials would be most welcome.
