Confused about CMS

I would like to use a CMS editor but have already built the site. Most editors want the site built using their templates. Can anyone put me right

I think you are probably right that with the major CMS applications like Joomla it will be a major re-code or using a template, but the simpler CMSs can be put in by editing.

Snippetedit http://www.snippetedit.com/ is a very simple CMS suitable for text and image edits provided they are not too complicated. You put in <snippet> and </snippet> tags around areas that someone else can access with a username and password.
