Dreamweaver Gradient Background Help Plz

hey guys im kind of going insane, i made a website n want the gradient to look like the first link at

im using CSS but dont know where to do that coding n i even tried doing the 1x1000 slice of the background and using repeat-x and repeat-y stuff didnt work. problem is when changing resolutions, the gradient doesnt appear the same, its shifted! PLZ HELP so it works with all resolutions! THANKS!
