Quick Question!

I know this is a complete newbie quesiton, But i have been out of the website development business for about 8 years, haha, I know, I Know. and i have been seeing something around and am just wondering how it's done. The last place I saw it was on www.lastminutegolfer.com right below the top column that about every 20 seconds automatically scrolls from one article to the next. What is this called and what software creates this media box... If you somehow or another made it through all that dripple, I would really love your help. Thank you.

The one you have pointed out is made using a program called flash.
Flash generates .swf files which are regarded as essentially movies, but theyre not really.
the animation is created in the program and then included in the code either by html or sometimes by javascript.

The scrolling content effect can also be done using javascript alone.
