Flash text question

I am trying to make some text appear over an image, I want it to start from the middle and expand out. I don't want it to start squished and expand out.

On this page is what i am trying to do. The text that appears between the 2 red bars. I want it to expand out just like that, but without the bars.

I have been trying to figure out a way to do it for the last few hours, and decided i needed to ask for some help.

You need to us a mask layer.
