IE load "lag".

Hello, I'm fairly new to this forum, and been looking around a little bit, but couldn't find what I was looking for. So here goes:


I'm currently making myself a blog kinda thing. And so far everything goes well, but I've run into something fairly annoying... look here. (http://higi.dk/)

When using Firefox, everything is smooth. But using IE, clicking links makes the site "flash" or "lag". So far I've figured out it's somewhat slow loading of the background and other graphics, but the page is fairly light on images.

To counter this, I made a background color, a dark grey. It works, but the site still flash.

Is this a problem with the IE engine, or is there anything I can do?
