Hi all,
I have been asked to design a website similar to www.autotrader.co.uk and am seeking expertise regarding best solutions for database structure i.e. how to design, optimise queries, what information should go on DB and what into xml/flat pages etc.
My initial plan to solve this problem is as follows:
Have separate tables for:
1) ads data
2) user account data
4) payment data
I understand that the the topic is really vast and need a professional who worked on a similar project which was a success and system didn't cause a bottleneck and fell over. The estimate is over 100.000 users per day querying the database thus optimisatios is its priority. Also, I would require advice on clustering and backup. Can pay for genuine and professional service or we can exchange experiences.
Cheers,
David
