IE6 hates me (lots of problems)

Hi all,

I'm still very much a beginner, so bear with me here. I'm doing my work's website into css because it was all done in fireworks. Well... it looks fine in IE7 and FF2+, but in IE6 it's completely shifting. Can anyone point me to where the problem is?

And I tried to do some ie6 fixes (I'm using transparent .pngs) here:

I know my use of classes isn't right at all. I'm still figuring out what the basics are.

Well, I got rid of the transparent images and it got rid of most of the problems. Now, there's a little bit of "extra" margins on the bottom of the "news" area. Does anyone know what that's from?
