Is it possible to write a simple php script that will allow a client to change their own pictures from a gallery that uses this script from dynamicdrive?

instead of using links I have used thumbnail images that pop up the big image.
I'm just at the beginning of learning php.
How advanced into it would I have to be to write a script that would do this?
