Portfolio Site: Seeking advice

I am looking for advice regarding my portfolio site: www.aidanwaite.com. The idea was to create a website that was well designed and attractive, so it is the first part of the portfolio. Please have a look, and any and all advice is welcomed.

Hi,
I don't like the font, why don't you change it to Tahoma or Verdana, for example?
Also this background color of the text makes the site too monotonous...
