Simple 404 error page

hello everyone.
Ok, problem is pretty simple it's just my memory hasn't kicked in as yet .

Over at websiteking.co.uk I DID have a custom 404page but, since redesigning the site, it's no longer working .

I was NOT using any PHP or anything techy, just this :

ErrorDocument 404 http://www.websiteking.co.uk/404.html

which I uploaded as a CGI, a normal txt document halled .htaccess and a normal txt document called
404.htaccess
but it still doen't work.

What USED to happen was that when somebody tried to visit a page on our website that does not exist, they would be shown this page :

www.websiteking.co.uk/404.html

but for some reason it's not doing that any more; it just shows the crap you can see by clicking here :

www.websiteking.co.uk/nosuchpage.html
