I'm a front end web designer and am thinking of expanding into the world of ecommerce. I've been experimenting with some CMS packages and I'm thinking of using Joomla to set this up, but I need your opinions if this is the best way to go or if you have any other recommendations?

Client would like to have the following on their site:
1.e-learning classes which can be searched by keyword
2.online test modules and videos which users can take and login anytime to complete at a later time
3.downloadable home courses

Are there any modules or off the shelf packages out there that can custom do this?
I was thinking of using the Joomla/VirtueMart shopping cart as the engine to list out the courses, but instead of shipping, it will give a number of seats available or its full. There is also Moodle for elearning, but what do you guys think?

Flash video or quicktime for the videos I would think. Are there any modules that allow one to take a powerpoint and put it "online"?

Any ideas if this is doable or am I looking to having to hire several people to subcontract? How have you tackled a client approaching you for heavy-duty work like this? I do want to get my business started, so I do want to do this project, but just don't know how to do the stuff "i don't know yet".

Anybody ever do something like this before and if so, any examples you can share?

Thanks!
bob
