I'm looking for a streamlined open-source (free) newsletter script for my site.

I would like to have a basic signup on every page on the site (fill in your email address & hit "subscribe") as a php include.

I have tried a couple different packages but didn't like them for one reason or another.

^was pretty good, but the iframe used for the signup was really annoying.

PHPList is way too cumbersome to work with for what I need, and seems to require a separate signup page.

What do you guys recommend?

Ahh... the newsletter problem. I've run into this issue too. I'm very interested in hearing what people are actually using because I have never had any luck at finding a good script for making ANYTHING that's functional. (newsletters, calendars, etc.) I started coding my own newsletter script at one time but it's so time consuming. It's just a thing I do now when I have nothing else to do.
Anyway, I have used ccMail, but it uses files instead of databases for storage. Yuck. Plus you can't throw it into your own template; you're stuck with theirs unless you want to do some serious modding. Here's the URL just in case you are interested:

Not that it doesn't have its advantages. It uses a very nice newsletter composer that supports HTML newsletters. It also has a very simple submission form. I still think the cons outweigh the pros, but maybe you'll find differently.
