Help for my church designing a form page for volunteer signup

I need to design a form page for our website so that volunteers can sign up for our upcoming building project.
I don't know how to do this or the best way to do it.

The only thing I can do is create an html form that emails the info to me after they click submit...but I don't really like it.

Can anyone out there help me?

Take a look at the website www.idataforms.com. It is a website database development/hosting service for non-programmers and website designers. They have a number of pre-built databases that could be used to fit your needs. Or, you can use their tools to create a custom database for your volunteers to register.
