I liked the look of the page better before the background image kicked in, but that's just a personal preference, nothing that affects the useability of the site.

The green text isw a bit hard to read and tends to recede on the page making the headers seem less prominent than everything else. The text on the "search materials" page is a lot lighter gray than the other pages and hard to read.

On the "profile" page is a link that reads "back to top" ... why is it there? There's so little on the page that I'd have to have a pretty small browser window to force the text to scroll off the page, and even then I wouldn't need the link.

Nice use of photos and simple graphics.
