confused

Hi, Ive been using ps for about 6 months now and i love using it so much i want to start doing some web design. Ive found that the macromedia and adobe software crosses paths alot so i'm not sure which i should use, i dont mind if one is harder then the other to learn as at the end of the day id rather use the superior product. Can anyone help me out and tell me which adobe product counterparts to which macromedia product and which one i should use.

i.e photoshop vs fireworks - which one and why?

You can use photoshop, flash and dreamweaver.

At least photoshop and dreamweaver is a must for designers. :)
