cant use php...

hey guys..........im new to php

and whenever i create a php document and save it as "xxx.php", and open it in Internet Explorer, all that happens is the notepad document opens, not a site...
what do i do?

You need to have php server software running on your PC in order to run the php file. Or upload it to your web server to test on there.
