when flash is not installed...

I have a flash content on my site. However when flash player is not available on some computers, that space stays blank. I would like to show just a static (jpeg, gif) picture instead automatically instead of empty space. Can anybody help me on that what I need to do.

Have you tried to validate the player plug in, in lets say Dreamweaver?
