Creat counter of views function in PHP

Hey you all, I wana creat a counter of views function in my webpage, so it will count how many times the topic/the news was read.
Any suggestions? My programing language is PHP

Hi, if you have a higher traffic site I would suggest MySQL, but if you have a lower traffic site i suggest using a flat file
